The system detected a problem with the battery (possibly faulty at this point), the charge circuits in the tablet are possibly damaged (not all that likely though), the charger itself is faulty (if charged with a pc usb then rule this out), or a combination of the above. I would try to use a usb in a pc is you have not already. If you have try different usb ports and/or a different pc. If this still does nothing then try using another charger from the wall.

If you let the battery go completely dead and left it that way for weeks or months then there is a possibility the battery is in a dead loop cycle. If so keep rebooting the tab with it plugged into the charger and hopefully one of the reboots it will start charging for you. If none of this works then i would assume the battery itself is faulty.

If you really like the tab and want to play around with it, or just dont care about it and still want to play with it, you can pop it open and get replacement battery. Although since the battery is not meant to be replaced by users it will be a slight pain to remove. Prepare to tinker a lot.

I did it with mine and wouldnt recomend it to those unskilled with tearing pc's, laptops, phones or tabs apart. One other thing, if the battery status appears as you said while its plugged into a power source, unplug the power source and see if you can get it to power on at all, even just for a few seconds.this can also break out of any charge loop issues. FYI I saw it listed on ebay from 15 bucks used to around 40 dollars new.so its no loss if you want to drop it out the window going 65 down the highway just to see how durable it is(n't)/was(n't).
